JBRPC seeks a skilled and creative fundraiser to expand and diversify our revenues and overall public engagement as the organization significantly grows its reach and impact over the next 4+ years. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years professional experience developing and implementing public engagement campaigns, including fundraising and communications strategies. The Director of Development & Administration will help drive organizational growth, working closely with the Executive Director and 'small but mighty' JBRPC team to further develop JBRPC's brand and voice, capacity and systems for documenting and communicating impact, and external affairs. Experience working collaboratively is a must, as is a desire to work in a small nimble nonprofit environment on local environmental issues.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Executive Director and other team members (staff and board) to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and communications strategy toward the goal of increasing revenues and direct public engagements by 30% over the next 3 years
  • Become versed in JBRPC's mission, audiences, partners, and diverse initiatives to best shape fundraising and communications strategies and campaigns
  • Oversee and execute all fundraising-related initiatives, from research to reporting, including financial management and coding of grants and other funding sources
  • Develop and implement plans to expand JBRPC earned revenue program
  • Support writing and copy editing for JBRPC-wide materials, including marketing and fundraising, press and program promotion, impact reports, etc
  • Guide consistency in brand and voice for external communications across JBRPC platforms: website, social media, newsletters, digital and print visual materials, etc
  • As needed, support public programs and events, volunteer stewardship projects, and various convenings as part of the JBRPC team

This position might be for you if...

  • you have a college degree in a related field and 4+ years' experience in a nonprofit development-related role, preferably in a mid-level position where you had to generate and follow new leads, and are eager to shape your professional growth with JBRPC over the next 3+ years
  • you have developed strategy and implemented fundraising initiatives, including grants research to reporting, government and philanthropic funding opportunities, and donor relations
  • you have developed and implemented communications initiatives, including campaigns for social media, newsletters, visual storytelling and graphics, and web
  • you're comfortable working in Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Squarespace, Salesforce, Social Media platforms
  • you understand the power of data and have experience communicating complex stats and concepts to diverse audiences for multiple engagement purposes
  • you are a self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude and consistent follow-through
  • you're hyper organized, have excellent planning and time management skills, and can successfully juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • you enjoy time outdoors throughout all seasons and weather conditions and are excited for opportunities to join JBRPC programs across our catchment area
  • you are a stellar team member who also shines when working independently
  • you have the ability to flex your work schedule for JBRPC programs and related communications
  • you have the ability to travel throughout JBRPC's catchment area (a valid Driver's License is a plus)
