This is where you and your skills come in. We're currently looking for: a Principal Software Engineer, Video to drive the design, development, and innovation for our Media Platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building video conferencing applications using WebRTC.

Job Duties:

  • Lead the research, design, and development of Media Platform initiatives to deliver new functionality and enhancements for superior media quality, scalability, and resilience
  • Proactively identify new opportunities, core improvements, and unrealized potential in our systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other products and services
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers on the team
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on topics related to WebRTC media processing
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in WebRTC and apply this knowledge to create innovative solutions
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on media processing and streaming
  • Knowledge of classical algorithms, data structures and multi-threaded software development
  • Extensive experience with systems programming using C++. Additional experience with is a plus
  • Expert knowledge of WebRTC
  • Extensive experience with media codecs and transports related to real-time communications, including: VP8, VP9, AV1, H.264, Opus, and RTP/RTCP
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

If you are hired in Belmont, California, the compensation range for this position is between $175,000 and $250,000 for full-time employees, in addition to eligibility for variable pay, equity, and benefits.
