Your Role as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a vital role in patients' treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder, offering high-quality, caring support through individual and group counseling sessions.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate guidance in counseling sessions
  • Plan, oversee, and document patient's recovery
  • Co-facilitate group or family sessions
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care
  • Prepare individual treatment plans
  • Conduct assessments and referrals as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention and case management
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services field
  • Prior experience in addiction recovery or MAT environment

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Not required, position applicable to ADC, AADC, PLC, LPC, BSW, MSW
