Wedding Coordinator / Catering Sales Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)
  • Selling events (with a special focus on weddings) and groups with sleeping rooms. Generating lists of prospective clients, meeting with clients on-site or off-site, showing and demonstrating facilities and services, quoting prices and preparing sales contracts.
  • Planning menus and other activities in coordination with the Executive Chef and relevant operational departments.
  • Facilitating communication before, during and post event with the client and relevant operational departments to ensure a high level of service.
  • Coordinating activities the day-of the event and supporting the clients and operational departments, as needed.
  • Reporting on business transactions and maintaining an expense accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • One year of hotel sales experience is required.
  • One year of wedding coordination experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
ABILITIES
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in using technology and computer software, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of food and beverage standards in hotels and menu items.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and exactness in performance of job duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally using English.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in collaboration with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to calculate percentages, revenues and expenses and to use mathematics to solve business problems.
  • Ability to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking and driving.
  • Ability to be highly visible and interact with clients and operational departments during weddings and other events.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and respond proactively.
