Create a welcoming and supportive environment for students to thrive academically and personally. As an Area Director, you will lead by example, oversee resident assistants, and manage day-to-day operations at the residence life office in the local community.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate resident assistants and graduate resident assistants.
- Ensure living spaces are safe, clean, and functional.
- Regulate student conduct and enforce residential rules.
- Respond to emergencies and conflicts as needed.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote student development.
- Participate in Residence Life committees and represent the department at university functions.
- This live-in position requires evening and weekend commitments.
Required Skills:
- B.A./B.S., Master's degree preferred.
- Excellent public presentation and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
- Experience interacting with diverse communities.
- Understanding of culturally diverse student needs.
- Minimum of two years of direct experience.
- Cover letter required for consideration.
