Aston Carter is seeking an Accounting Manager for a client based in Louisville, KY.

Description:


This Accounting Manager position plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Controller as they manage a company's accounting and financial activities.

This position involves a mix of administrative, analytical, and financial responsibilities. Below are the key duties and qualifications for an Assistant Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
  • Create financial summary statements for directors and upper management.
  • Review and analyze financial information to ensure accuracy.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist Financial Managers with budget preparation.
  • Participate in forecasting the company's financial health.

Compliance and Controls:

  • Ensure all accounting practices adhere to legal guidelines and established accounting principles.
  • Collaborate with the company's financial team to create and maintain internal controls and policies.

Record Keeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, fixed assets, and other financial data.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts.

System Processes and IT Collaboration:

  • Work with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes.
  • Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA or in the process of taking CPA.
  • Experience in local or regional public accounting a plus
  • Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with manufacturing and cost accounting.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
