Marketing Communications Specialist

  • Temp to Hire
$21/hour, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm

Position Summary :
Communicate with the public using various methods; recording and distributing accurate minutes from Board and Committee meetings.

General Purpose :

Inform the public about all programs and initiatives; work with the Deputy and Executive Director serving on Board and Committee Meetings.


Position responsibilities:

Must keep the Board members and public informed of all programs and activities

Ensure website is kept up-to-date

Engage in outreach and public information campaigns to solicit participation in all programs.

Manage and administer all Social Media venues like Website, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

Administer promotions and events as needed and/or appropriate.

Issue press releases to promote a positive image

Actively communicate with members by way of newsletters, emails, and ads.

Oversee the ongoing development and improvement of website.

Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences as required.

Other related duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:

Post-secondary school education at community college or university level and/or appropriate combination of education and experience.

Excellent written and verbal skills.

Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.

Computer skills in MS Office, desktop publishing, database, and website applications.

Understanding of all Social Media platforms.

Ability to multi-task and work well as part of a team.

Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision with a high degree of accuracy and motivation.
