We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team at our Day Habilitation Center located in Centerville, OH.


Position Overview:
The Day Habilitation Specialist will work with 3-4 individuals who use wheelchairs.

This role requires a compassionate and skilled individual who can assist with daily living activities, including changing, lifting, and using the bathroom.

The specialist will focus on community integration, spending most of the day engaging clients in community activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals in wheelchairs, including personal care, changing, lifting, and assisting with bathroom needs.
  • Drive a wheelchairaccessible bus to transport individuals to and from community activities.
  • Facilitate community integration activities, ensuring clients are engaged and included in community events and programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided and activities participated in.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all clients.
  • Assist with health and safety checks as required.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, especially those using wheelchairs, is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a wheelchairaccessible bus.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
