Overview

The Expense Specialist will support and maintain the day-to-day activities of the travel expense functions, including travel reimbursement, expense reporting, travel accounts monitoring, audit, corporate cards and travel policy compliance for all entities in all locations. This position is fully remote.



Responsibilities
  • Audit employee expense reports to ensure adherence to Corporate Travel Policy and the Federal Travel Regulations
  • Audit subcontractor expense reports to ensure adherence to Corporate Travel Policy and the Federal Travel Regulations
  • Identify, capture and communicate exceptions to policy
  • Respond to inquiries about the expense reporting application, provide support and engage in solutions to users problems to ensure employee satisfaction and productivity
  • Maintain designated account reconciliation schedules
  • Run reports to analyze expense trends and potential policy exceptions
  • Ensure system audit rules, reminders and system settings are set properly and employee data is properly updated and activated
  • Responsible for meeting assigned deadlines
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for management upon request
  • Provide backup for general AP and Accounting activities as needed


Education/Qualifications
  • Associate Degree required Bachelor Degree Preferred in Accounting/Finance related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years accounting experience and Government experience a plus
  • Deltek Costpoint software experience a plus
  • Must have excellent PC skills (Excel, Word)
  • Must be able to demonstrate professionalism in communicating with various departments within the company
  • Highly organized individual with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
