Senior Accountant

The purpose of this role is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, provide timely reporting, and lead the finance team towards operational excellence.

This role involves collaborating with different teams, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the overall financial health and success of the organization.

This position is for a temporary contract lasting 3-6 months with a chance of transitioning to full-time.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by monitoring transactional processing.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior accounting staff.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile accounts, verify transactions, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Interpret financial data to support decision-making.
  • Develop internal control procedures for asset protection.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Provide documentation for audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Implement best practices for financial operations.
  • Address complex accounting issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet business goals.
  • Monitor liquidity and working capital.
  • Perform special financial analysis and projects.
  • Oversee overhead expenses and transactions.
  • Complete necessary filings to protect ownership.
  • Reconcile external commission calculations.
  • Lead finance responsibilities for inventory procedures.
  • Produce accurate accounting reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Stay updated on industry knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Financial and Business Management:

  • Meet financial targets and manage the assigned budget.
  • Develop business priorities aligned with the strategy for short, medium, and long-term success.
  • Plan and forecast business performance, resources, and finances.
