Legislative Affairs Specialist

Key Role:

Demonstrate expertise to perform the full range of congressional liaison work, including controlling, analyzing, researching, and formulating official responses to written and telephonic requests from Members of Congress and staffs, and Congressional Committees.Leverage expertise with legislative and regulatory documents and a knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process. Monitor the status of defense legislation, pertinent hearings, markups, and floor actions. Research and write background papers, talking points, and written and verbal statements for leadership and agency employees when preparing to brief Congress or working engagements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in legislative affairs field or congressional affairs

  • Experience with legislative and regulatory documents and process

  • Experience with researching and writing background papers, talking points, and verbal and written statements, including providing legislative briefings to leadership

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Possession of excellent critical thinking skills

  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
