Job Title: Aide/Job Coach (18-21 Program)

Location:Bergenfield, New Jersey
Employment Type: Contract, Full-time hours, short-term assignment
Work Hours: 8:10-3:10 pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aide/Job Coach to join our 18-21 program, which supports young adults with disabilities as they transition from school to employment and independent living. The Aide/Job Coach will work closely with students to provide hands-on assistance, coaching, and guidance in real-world job settings and life skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with disabilities (ages 18-21) in vocational, life skills, and community integration activities
  • Provide job coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job support to help students succeed in various work environments
  • Assist students in understanding and completing job tasks, improving social interactions, and fostering independence
  • Collaborate with teachers, vocational specialists, and employers to monitor student progress and ensure success
  • Provide transportation assistance as needed to ensure students can access job sites and community activities
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and provide regular reports to the program supervisor
  • Assist with classroom activities and support student participation in other program-related events
  • Uphold the program's goals of promoting independence, responsibility, and skill development in students

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelors degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred)
  • Experience working with young adults with disabilities in an educational, vocational, or job-coaching setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage students, teachers, and employers
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students' personal and vocational growth
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse group of students
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation preferred
