Special Education Teacher Position Available

Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

Pay Range: $30+/hour (Weekly Pay)

Position Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week)

Caseload Type: Autism Spectrum Disorder

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) specifically for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth.

  • Provide differentiated instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students effectively.

  • Collaborate with related services staff (Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist) to integrate therapies into daily classroom activities.

  • Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student achievements and areas for improvement.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, materials, and assistive technology to enhance student learning and independence.

  • Monitor and support students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills.

  • Incorporate adaptive equipment and modify classroom environments as needed to facilitate student participation and accessibility.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Special Education preferred.

  • Valid state teaching certificate or credential in Special Education.

  • Experience in a self-contained classroom setting with knowledge of diverse disabilities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with related services professionals, colleagues, and parents/guardians.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
