We are seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. This role requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience in special education.

Position Details:
  • Openings: 3
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Available Positions:
    • Preschool Teacher (no severe behaviors)
    • Elementary Instructional Teacher (3-4 Caseload; no severe behaviors)
    • 8th Grade Inclusion and Instructional Teacher
  • Teaching Approach: Push-in/Push-Out; Co-teaching will be included
  • Inclusion Focus: Teachers will support students in General Education classrooms

Note: The Preschool position requires a special endorsement, while the other roles adhere to standard Illinois requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver tailored instruction in various settings including one-on-one, small groups, and large classrooms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and adapt curriculum, co-teach with general educators, and effectively communicate the needs of special education students.
  • Develop, implement, and assess behavioral plans for assigned students.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to conduct IEP meetings, referrals, and enhance the educational experience of students.
  • Maintain consistent communication with general educators, school staff, students, and their families.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive environment for students with disabilities.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field is required. A valid teaching certificate is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Responsibilities Include:

Instructing students with autism across various skill areas such as language, social interaction, academics, daily living skills, self-help, advocacy, and recreational skills. Additional duties involve data collection and analysis, communication with colleagues and parents, and providing support services to families.
