Job Description:

As a School Special Education (SPED) Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. Your expertise in special education will empower students to overcome challenges, develop essential skills, and achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Utilize creative and innovative teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess students' progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and make necessary adjustments to meet their evolving needs.
  • Create a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and self-confidence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Illinois state teaching certification in Special Education (SPED).
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and a strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to advocating for all students.
