Responsibilities

  • What You'll Do:
  • As a full-time instructor of Security Cooperation, you will support the Defense Security Cooperation University in Washington DC area. This exciting opportunity will be a rewarding chance to learn and support our country in the Security Cooperation enterprise. You will be serving in the capacity of Instructor of Security Cooperation Management at the Defense Security Cooperation University and will support the organizational goals through effective instruction for the Security Cooperation Organization/Officer (SCO) Department.
  • You will perform instructor duties such as conducting exercises, seminars, workshops, and tutorials in resident and non-resident courses. You will serve as an advisor/mentor to student groups and individuals and act as a course manager and/or cohort manager during instruction.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Supports the department in preparing military officers, enlisted personnel, and DoD civilians to serve within SC Organizations in demanding, inter-agency, and international environments and to execute SC programs and processes that support all DoD interactions with foreign defense establishments.
    • Must have relateable SC experience and be able to teach students who have or will be serving in overseas SCO billets.
    • Must be able to relay theories, principles, best practices, tactics, techniques, and procedures related to serving within SCOs or Country Teams abroad.
    • Should possess knowledge and experience with the following topics: SCO Operations; SC Planning; FMS CASE Management; and International Training Management.
    • Performs instructor duties such as conducting exercises, seminars, workshops, and tutorials in resident and non-resident courses.
    • Must serve as an advisor/mentor to student groups and individuals and act as a course manager and/or cohort manager during instruction.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications
    • Minimum Qualifications:
      • Education:
        • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or higher degree preferred) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work.
      • Experience:
        • Must have at least three years of direct specialized experience in SCO service (experience may have been gained in the military or private sector).
        • Having executed Security Cooperation efforts at U.S. Embassies abroad, can demonstrate specialized experience in the field of security cooperation (SC) with international partners and in the following areas: SC Organization (SCO) Operations; International Training Management; SC Planning; and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Case Management.
      • Other Requirements:
        • Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
        • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data system.
        • Telework may be available depending on the specific assignment and must be approved by the Program Manager/Contract.
