Job Description:

Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Derry, NH area for the 2024-2025 school year. As a Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of high school students with diverse learning needs, providing personalized instruction and support to promote academic success and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, based on assessment data, academic goals, and functional skills.
  • Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, adapting curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of students.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide accommodations and modifications as needed to support students' access to the general education curriculum and ensure progress toward IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to coordinate services and implement inclusive practices in the classroom and school environment.
  • Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as needed to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom climate conducive to learning, promoting student engagement, self-regulation, and positive peer interactions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress, discuss concerns, and solicit input on educational goals and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student performance, attendance, and behavior, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
  • New Hampshire teaching license with Special Education endorsement or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience working with high school students with disabilities in a school-based setting, preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices for instruction and intervention.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
