Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GovCloud Engineer to design and architect a customer asset tracking service hosted in the cloud. The GovCloud Engineer will be responsible for designing a scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based solution that leverages containers. The service will be accessible to users worldwide through a web browser using a URL and will require multi-factor authentication for user authentication.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Design and architect a cloud-based customer asset tracking service using industry best practices and cloud-native technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into a scalable and secure cloud architecture.
  • Develop architectural designs, diagrams, and documentation to communicate the proposed solution to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies to meet the requirements of the customer asset tracking service.
  • Design and implement container-based solutions using container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of the cloud architecture, including data protection, access controls, and encryption.
  • Optimize the performance, scalability, and availability of the cloud-based service to meet user demands.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to define and implement CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment of the service.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and provide recommendations for improvement.

 

Qualifications:  

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of job area. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • Proven experience as a GovCloud Engineer, designing and architecting cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud as well as their pricing models
  • Strong Linux background
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and OpenShift
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and serverless computing.
  • In-depth understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architecture.
  • Experience with multi-factor authentication and identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and configuration management.
  • Experience working government and/or military programs
  • Excellent written, oral communications skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Active Security Clearance - Secret or Higher
