Job Opportunity: General Education Teacher (Middle Grade Reading)
Are you passionate about literacy and ready to inspire middle grade students in the Harvey, IL area? Soliant Education is seeking a licensed General Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This position focuses on teaching reading to middle grade students in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
Position: General Education Teacher (Middle Grade Reading)
Location: Harvey, IL Area
Grade Levels: Middle Grade
Subject: Reading
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging and differentiated reading instruction aligned with state standards and curriculum frameworks for middle grade students
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technology tools to develop students' reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessment methods and adjust instruction accordingly to meet individual learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement interventions, accommodations, and support plans for students with diverse learning needs, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their full potential as readers and learners
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field
- Valid Illinois State teaching certification/licensure in Elementary Education or Middle Grade Teaching/Reading
- Experience teaching reading at the middle grade level preferred
- Strong content knowledge in literacy instruction and a passion for promoting a love of reading in students
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all students
