Job Opportunity: Physical Education Teacher

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our team in the Harvey, IL area for the 2024-2025 school year. This position offers the opportunity to inspire students and foster lifelong habits of wellness in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
Position: Physical Education Teacher
Location: Harvey, IL Area
Grade Levels: Kindergarten to Middle Grade
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive physical education curricula that align with state standards and educational objectives for students in kindergarten through middle grade levels
- Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate physical activities, games, and exercises that promote motor skill development, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Assess student progress and participation in physical education classes using a variety of assessment methods and provide feedback to students and families
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to integrate physical education into the overall school curriculum and promote a culture of health and wellness
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to participate in physical activity
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in physical education instruction and curriculum development
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Valid Illinois State teaching credential/licensure in Physical Education (preferred) or willingness to obtain licensure
- Experience teaching physical education to students in kindergarten through middle grade levels (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of physical education principles, practices, and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to promoting physical activity, health, and wellness for all students
