Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher seeking an opportunity to make a positive impact in the Harvey, IL area? Soliant Education is currently seeking a licensed Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This position offers the chance to work with students across K-12 grade levels in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Location: Harvey, IL Area
Grade Levels: K-12th
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs and abilities across K-12 grade levels
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, including literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills, using evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations/modifications as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents/guardians to create inclusive classroom environments and facilitate student success in the general education curriculum
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual learning goals
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom culture that promotes independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional growth
- Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and parent conferences to support student learning and development
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Illinois State teaching certification/licensure in Special Education (early childhood special education preferred)
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and/or exceptionalities across K-12 grade levels
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to advocating for the diverse needs of students with disabilities and promoting equity in education
