Director of Corporate Accounting

The Director of Corporate Accounting isresponsible for overseeing all accounting and finance functions ofthe organization. This position ensures compliance with allapplicable tax and accounting regulations and manages thepreparation and filing of all necessary financial statements. Thesuccessful candidate has excellent analytical and problem-solvingskills and a deep understanding of accounting principles andprocesses.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of all necessaryfinancial statements, and ensure that all financial reporting isaccurate and timely
  • Monitor the accuracy offinancial data and ensure that all transactions are properlyrecorded
  • Develop and implement accountingpolicies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicablelaws and regulations
  • Prepare and reviewmonthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Provide financial guidance and support to commercial andwider finance teams, and ensure that all financial decisions are inalignment with the organization’s strategic goals
  • Coordinates and ensure proper accounting foracquisitions, pension, including communication withheadquarters.
  • Coordination of all mattersrelated to Internal and External Audit
  • Oversights application of accounting policies andprocedures, internal control compliance
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relatedfield required
  • Minimum of 8+ years ofexperience in accounting and finance
  • Strongknowledge and experience of IFRS
  • 5+ years ofexperience in a managerial level role
  • Priorpeople leader experience
  • Experience in Pensionaccounting and acquisition accounting
  • Strongorganizational and time management skills
  • Ableto communicate effectively with both internal and externalstakeholders
  • Ability to work independently,multi-task and effectively prioritize projects
  • Autonomy – Understands what is required, structures timeand tasks and puts action plans in place, manages multiple projectsand holds people accountable to appropriately achieveoutcomes
  • Tenacity, Commitment and PersonalDrive
  • High level of Integrity andProfessionalism with high ethical standards
  • History of building and leading team with track recordsof developing and progressing talents
  • Able tobuild strong relationships with regional and divisional financeteams

PreferredQualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalentrequired
  • Prior public accounting firmexperience
