Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Local Government Affairs team as the Director of Legislative Strategy and Strategic Initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for elevating our local advocacy efforts. You will play a key role in managing headquarters support for advocacy in new and major markets, analyzing and responding to city and county legislation, and leading local government affairs support of federal and state advocacy. Also, you will provide comprehensive support to our regional government affairs colleagues including onboarding, training, materials development, and coordination of advocacy partners and consultants.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Manage HQ Local Government Affairs support for advocacy in new markets
- Monitor and analyze proposed local government legislation, and emerging issues and trends that impact the company.
- Develop and implement effective advocacy response strategies to local legislation in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead regional government affairs participation in national advocacy, including managing local GA support of Federal in-district advocacy.
- Provide comprehensive support to our regional government affairs colleagues including onboarding, training, materials development, and coordination of advocacy partners and consultants.
Professional Experience, Qualifications, & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of external affairs, government affairs, campaign, or related advocacy experience;
- Must have proven track record of political experience, working on either political campaigns and/or corporate public affairs campaigns;
- Self-driven and thrive in fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings
- Ability to influence, negotiate with, and build consensus with others.
- Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others, including ability to interact effectively with senior level management
- Excellent oral and written communications skills;
- Maintains the highest levels of ethical conduct and integrity.
- Detail oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong interest in cable, communications, Internet and media policy.
- Ability to travel as required.

Education
Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
