The Marketing Operations team is responsiblefor increasing efficiencies and driving results within the MeijerMarketing department by establishing, managing and optimizingeffective processes that empower teams to maximizeperformance.

The Project Management team isresponsible for leading marketing processes, overseeing deploymentof resources, as well as tracking key department success metrics.This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining communicationwith all stakeholders, scheduling and facilitating appropriatemeetings throughout the Agile and creative development processes,ensuring processes are being adhered to, while proactivelyidentifying areas of improvement for the overallprocess.

The Manager, Project Management isconsidered a subject matter expert and is adept at blending therange of services in project management, methodology, metrics,governance, workforce management and development. The positiondesigns, develops and implements formal workplans for the ProjectManagement range of services and develops standards for software,processes, templates and tools to better align to corporate goals.

This position communicates, trains and supportsthese initiatives within the Marketing department and theappropriate business areas, and also leads the planning of large,cross-functional projects and events. This manager also providesday-to-day leadership and direction to the Project Managementteam..

Dutiesand Responsibilities (KeyDeliverables):

  • ProvidesMeijer Marketing and key business partners/agencies with ProjectManagement partnership.
  • Plans, schedules &controls all key marketing (creative) businessprojects.
  • Works cross-functionally with theirpeers and Director, Marketing Operations to improve work processes,gain team efficiency.
  • Leads in the developmentof key business relationships and integrates across departments toensure successful implementation and support ofprojects.
  • Sets up and tracks specific projectplan schedules and budgets. Adjusts project plans and resolvesissues as necessary.
  • Leads and facilitatesMarketing Train events, like PI Planning, and weekly Agile SuccessTeam meetings.
  • Plans and leads the successfulonboarding of new vendor partners (i.e., Agency ofRecord).
  • Leads the creation of AOR contract andannual scope of work in alignment with business objectives. Managesactual work against the AOR SOW and budget throughout a givenyear.
  • Organizes and designs team structures andoperational models for seamless, successfulexecution.
  • Identifies and develops businessreports/scorecards for projects and team member performance.Reviews and interprets results of reports and data and analyzesdata integrity and effectiveness ofreports.
  • Manages and sets direction forMarketing workforce management and development processes inpartnership with Marketingleadership.
  • Evaluates and implements softwaretools for project management, budget and procurement, and/or ITSworkforce management and development; coordinatesenhancements.
  • Utilizes knowledge of industrybest practices for project management and recommends/implementsnecessary changes.
  • Provides forecast analysisand planning for Marketing processes (and corresponding workforceneeds), establishes and executes forecast strategies andgoals.
  • Leads the strategic development,implementation and ongoing management of the Marketing TrainingCurriculum; conducts project management and Agile-specifictraining.
  • Serves as Marketing subject matterexpert for the annual Summer Intern Program, providing Marketingguidance and exposure to a team of interns throughout theirinternship experience.
  • Develops and providespresentations for Marketing, Business Leaders, ExecutiveLeadership.

Education:

  • Bachelor’sdegree Business Administration or related discipline isrequired
  • PMP certification, Lean and/or ScaledAgile certification stronglypreferred.

Experience:

  • 8+years of experience in ProjectManagement.
  • Prior experience with and knowledgeof Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel,PowerPoint and Word.
  • Has extensive experiencemanaging simultaneous projects, programs and/orportfolios.
  • Has extensive experience withmanaging cross-functional projects, programs and/orportfolios.
  • Has extensive experience withoutsourced projects, programs and/or portfolios (vendors,consultants and/or contractors).
  • Previousmanagement experience preferred.
  • Ability tolead through ambiguity and inspire teams to follow in the face ofchange and innovation.
  • Possessessuperior project management skills for managing project scope,time, cost, quality, team member resources, communication, risk andprocurement.
  • Possessesextensive knowledge of Corporate financial and fiscal yearbudgetingprocesses.
  • Possessesfull knowledge of Meijer procurement businesspractices.
  • Possessesstrong planning and tracking/controllingskills.
  • Possessesexcellent follow-through, administrative and organizational skillsand is able tomulti-task.
  • Possessesstrong interpretation skills for the review of reports and datafrom all areas of thecompany.
  • Possessesstrong problem-solving, negotiating, facilitation and presentationskills.
