We are currently seeking an Engine Mechanic Operator located in Laurel, Montana. The Engine Mechanic Operator operates machines and tools to resolve electrical and mechanical problems, to achieve customer requirements.

The schedule for this role is 6pm to 4am four days a week. There is an opportunity for mandatory overtime.

What You Will Do:
  • Performs routine component installations and maintenance. Maintains records of equipment usage, repair history, reliability and other similar factors.
  • Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Addresses equipment failures, calibrates errors and reports them to management in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What You Have - Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences:

Power Plant Operations: Knowledge of power plant operations and ability to perform day-to-day operations.
Level Extensive Experience:
  • Monitors organizational adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates communications across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the power plant.
  • Evaluates the risks and safety hazards present in power plant operations.
  • Recommends key industry benchmarks of power plant operations and relates to own organization.
  • Supervises daily operations to ensure production targets and forecasts are achieved.
  • Employs tools and techniques for anticipating demand and assuring capacity.
Engine & Equipment Maintenance: Knowledge of techniques, procedures, and tools used in the maintenance of engine and equipment maintenance; ability to use this knowledge to identify, resolve and prevent issues and maximize their performance.
Level Expert:
  • Champions the use of emerging tools and technologies for engine and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Develops engine and equipment maintenance strategy and schedule based on predictive and prescriptive maintenance methodologies that rely on advanced data analysis.
  • Establishes internal best practices, guidelines, and procedures for performing engine and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Leads discussions on the performance and ROI of engine and equipment maintenance processes; introduces necessary interventions to improve the efficiency of these processes.
  • Monitors industry trends related to engine and equipment maintenance and predict their future implications.
  • Oversees all engine and equipment maintenance and repair activities and provides technical consultancy on applying emerging tools and technologies for maintenance.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a Power Plant.
Level Extensive Experience:
  • Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
  • Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
  • Monitors performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
  • Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment.

  • Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.
Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.

  • Designs a standard operating procedure, detailing steps and activities, within a department; develops procedures, processes, and controls to implement and execute policy requirements.
  • Optimizes complex SOPs according to changes in organizational procedures.
  • Monitors the relationship between SOPs and performance improvement (e.g. quality improvement).
  • Evaluates the benefits and drawbacks of industry-specific SOPs.
  • Integrates best practices into the design, implementation and evaluation of organizational SOPs.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems in power generation processes.

  • Monitors energy consumption and waste inside power plants.
  • Establishes an evaluation system to monitor generator operations.
