Database Administrator

The Opportunity:

Your combination of people skills and technical knowledge makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. As a database administrator you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting the defense industry, specifically in the Navy.

On our team, you’ll create and maintain user profiles for database access and research, and constantly look for ways to implement database tuning and performance optimization, perform backup and recovery, configure database parameters, and design prototypes against logical data model. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you develop and contribute to procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools like Microsoft SQL to help identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database.

In this role, you’ll work under supervision with your team leads to closely impact the mission by providing real time data and performance data by supporting the warfighter. With your technical experience, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we’ll focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

You Have:

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL
  • Experience creating and maintaining systems and triggers
  • Experience managing database availability and supporting database design
  • Experience with performance tuning and indexing
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology
  • Ability to manage data access, and create accounts
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience deploying database scripts, forms, and web solutions
  • Experience maintaining code repositories
  • Experience with Configuration Management and Repository Management
  • Experience with VM distribution, maintenance, refreshing, and creation
  • Experience applying STIGs and Security Patches
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
