Soliant Health is seeking a Special Education Teacher who is interested in working in a school setting in the Austin, Texas area. In this role, the SPED will be providing services for school age students ranging from grades PreK-12. Please see job details below.

  • Now - December 20, 2023 with a possibility for an extension
  • Full Time, Monday-Friday

  • Assigned to elementary campuses as needed

  • Caseload/Classroom assigned based on teaching clearances

  • An active Texas Special Education Teaching license is required

Knowledge, skills and abilities we are looking for:

  • K-6 teaching experience and licensure.
  • Understanding of Full Individual Initial Evaluations (FIIE) and how to interrupt evaluation recommendations in order to write educational plans.
  • Ability to understand the academic Impact of the disability identified in the FIIE.
  • Working knowledge of the Least Restrictive Environment process
  • Ability to build relationships with staff and parents.
  • Ability to attend ARDs as needed and as assigned.
  • IEP development experience including: Knowledge of Present Levels of Academic Performance and Functional performance (PLAAFs) writing goals and objectives

Duties do not include direct support to students.
