(Contingent upon available funding): 21.15 - 28.85, Hourly Work Schedule: Early mornings, nights, and weekends will be required Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Management and day to day care of Equestrian horse herd. Supervise and manage Equestrian student workers including graduate student. Manage and coordinate maintenance activities of facility, including but not limited to horse stalls, fencing, and practice/event facility.
Travel is required: Hauling horses when needed both in and out of state. Work schedule: A position such as this requires some work to be performed seven days/week. During off season, feeding and daily care is required. During competition season, some weekends are required when hosting Equestrian competitions.Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain a cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent's salary includes compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device.
There are inherent risks with any involvement with horses and livestock. Dust is a factor with this position. It may also be unpleasant at times due to weather.
Heavy lifting-50 pounds or more. Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED and four years of work experience in equine management.

Valid Driver's License.

Candidate must have extensive knowledge of horses and livestock. Must have experience with running and maintaining a tractor and related equipment. Experience with driving a truck and trailer and hauling livestock is a necessity. Heavy lifting required moving such items as hay bales and feed sacks. Experience with lawn equipment. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.
