Job Description:

Soliant Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school district in the Burnsville, Minnesota area. This position offers the opportunity to work with a team of professionals committed to providing quality education and support to students with special needs.

Duration: March 25th - End of School Year

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Grade Level/Caseload: Kindergarten to 5th Grade; Case manage 8 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Developmental Cognitive Disability (DCD)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, focusing on academic, social, and behavioral goals.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various academic subjects and functional skills.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the inclusion and success of students with special needs in the general education setting.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to address the unique needs of students with ASD or DCD.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and progress reports.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Developmental Cognitive Disability (DCD) preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Dedication to meeting the diverse needs of students with special needs.
