Credit and Collections Specialist

Core Function Overview

  • Handle daily financial records and bank statement reconciliation for company accounts; process incoming payments into our financial systems
  • Coordinate local check deposits on a weekly schedule
  • Evaluate and recommend credit parameters for prospective clients
  • Track payment status and follow established collection protocols based on payment agreements
  • Conduct professional payment follow-up communications while nurturing client relationships
  • Execute card-based payment processing through secure platforms
  • Generate monthly receivables status reports for leadership review; flag payment concerns to relevant stakeholders
  • Structure and monitor customized payment arrangements as situations warrant
  • Exercise discretion in recommending account holds or escalation to external collection partners
  • Investigate and resolve payment-to-invoice discrepancies
  • Assist with internal/external verification processes
  • Additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications & Capabilities

  • 3-5 years experience in business-to-business collections, working with diverse international clients
  • Excellence in business communication, with strong analytical and resolution skills
  • Self-directed worker capable of thriving in dynamic environments
  • Initiative-taking professional who can prioritize effectively and drive results
  • Advanced knowledge of standard office software, particularly spreadsheet and document applications
  • Experience with major business management systems
