Job Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and dedicated School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 23/24 school year nearMiddletown, DE. As a School SLP, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development, helping them overcome speech and language disorders that may impact their educational success. Your expertise will contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can effectively communicate and engage in academic activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students, targeting areas such as articulation, phonology, expressive and receptive language, fluency, and pragmatic skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement strategies and accommodations in the classroom and school environment
  • Monitor students' progress, document their performance, and make necessary adjustments to intervention plans
  • Provide recommendations and training to teachers and support staff on strategies to promote students' communication skills and participation in the classroom
  • Conduct screenings and assist in the identification of students with speech and language concerns
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required documentation

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Current Delaware state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language disorders, assessments, and interventions
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
