Position Description
Performs administrative and coordinative work in the Office of a Vice President or above to ensure the smooth operation and functioning of the office. Responsibilities involve the application of constructive measures and appropriate solutions to complex procedural and administrative matters. Duties may also include the coordination of office procedures and policies and high level secretarial support. May supervise office/clerical staff and possibly administrative support staff.

Major/Essential Functions
Schedule and set up meetings and appointments; assists with coordination of itineraries of campus visits by Board of Regents, Chancellor, President, Dean and Provost as well as other dignitaries. Maintain and coordinate schedules for the Regional Dean, Assistant Deans, and the Dean's Conference room. Ensure the atmosphere of the Regional Dean's office is indicative of the leadership, professionalism, and organization expected of Texas Tech and the community, includes answering phone calls. Assists Department Administrative Assistants with protocol of Chairs duties, involving scheduling of weekly meetings, monthly meetings, MPIP meetings, Faculty appointments, and other special called meetings involving Chairs, community leaders, hospital leaders. Plans and disseminates responsibilities among staff. Maintains updates on various boards, meetings, and memberships for Texas Tech and the community. Serves as mentor to teach, train, update and inform office staff of activities of the Dean and activities relating to the Dean's office. Provides coordination of special projects, compilation, dissemination, and expedience.
