PositionDescription

The Senior FinancialAnalyst will be the financial lead responsible for coordinatingrobust pricing strategies for their assigned sales channel withinthe retail side of our business.  This role will partnerclosely with the commercial sales team to develop sound businesssolutions that will drive sales growth and increased profitabilityusing financial analysis, network capability reviews, and pro-formaprofit and loss statements.  Key elements of the role includeadhering to pricing methodologies, understanding the company’s coststructure, and working closely with a variety of people within thebusiness unit inclusive of Sales, Procurement, Product Development,and Supply Chain.  The responsibilities of this role arevaried, creating a very challenging, dynamic, and rewarding workenvironment.  

EssentialFunctions:

  • Partner with Commercialteam to provide pricing recommendations, in-depth financialanalysis and pro-forma modeling for new product efforts andcompetitive bids.
  • Work closely with variouscross functional departments to assess the impact of commodityfluctuations, manufacturing costs, market trends, competitivedynamics, and supply chain/operational constraints on pricing andprofit margins.
  • Work with Supply Chain Financeto understand plant capabilities and key manufacturing cost driversto assess the impact on pricing and profitability as well aspotential alternatives for the customer.
  • Workwith Product Development and Procurement to understand theingredients needed for each product, all relevant costs, andpotential alternatives for the customer.
  • Adhere to company’s pricing structures, capabilities, andprocesses based on insights from internal and external sourcesincluding, but not limited to, competitive dynamics, market trends,customer research, commodity trends, and operationalinformation.
  • Support new product effortsthrough in-depth financial analysis and modeling for new products /new customers.
  • Partner with all levels ofmanagement in driving solutions to enhance productprofitability.
  • Make formal and informalpresentations on pricing strategies, customer profitability, andprovide key insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze volume, mix and pricing changes within theirassigned sales channel and key categories. Summarize trends withrespect to performance vs Prior Year, forecast, plan, and work withFP&A and the Commercial team to accurately reflect those trendsinto the Budget/Forecast.

Educationand Experience:

  • Bachelor of Sciencedegree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3-5 years ofexperience in financial analysis, revenue analytics, or relatedfield.
  • Experience interacting directly withsales and business teams.
  • Strong understandingof information systems including the pricing process from strategyto execution is preferred.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbaland written.
  • This position will need tonavigate through large data sets and summarize findings intomanagement level communication.
  • Stronganalytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency working inExcel, SAP and PowerPoint is required.
  • Abilityto present fact-based recommendations across various levels ofmanagement.
  • Attention to detail, planning andorganizational skill.
  • Excellent timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to work in afast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player whocan collaborate with multiple functions.
