Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in the picturesque Malone, WA area This full-time, in-person position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the lives of elementary school students by providing specialized instruction in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student on your elementary caseload, addressing their academic goals, social-emotional development, and communication skills.
  • Utilize a variety of evidence-based instructional methods, including differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), to create an engaging and accessible learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student success and create a truly inclusive learning community.
  • Provide specialized instruction in core academic subjects, such as reading, math, science, and social studies, while catering to the diverse learning styles and needs of students with special needs.
  • Foster a love for learning by incorporating creative and engaging activities that promote student growth, critical thinking, and independence.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and continuously adjust instruction to meet individual needs and ensure academic achievement.
  • Advocate for students with special needs and promote inclusive practices within the school community.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education for elementary students.

Qualifications:

  • Washington State Teaching Certification in Special Education or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with elementary school students with special needs in a school setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development, special education pedagogy, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for elementary students with special needs.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and maintaining student confidentiality according to ethical guidelines.
  • A passion for promoting inclusivity and advocating for the educational needs of students with special needs.
