Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Colton, CA. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with speech, language, and communication disorders, helping them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in conducting speech and language screenings and assessments.
  • Implement therapy activities and exercises according to the treatment plans developed by the SLP.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, following the SLP's guidance.
  • Collect and document data on student progress during therapy sessions and report findings to the SLP.
  • Help prepare therapy materials and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support the integration of speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about student-specific goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field.
  • Valid SLPA certification or license in California.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
  • Dedication to helping students achieve their communication goals.
