Details
Position Type: Full-Time
Caseload: 8th grade classroom- students spread across 4 classes throughout the day
Pay range: $30+/hr; based on education and experience

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and interactive lesson plans that align with middle school science curriculum standards.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Facilitate hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and activities to promote inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary connections and enhance the overall academic experience.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Science (middle school level).
  • Prior teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of middle school science curriculum standards and best practices in science education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with middle school students and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
