Accounts Payable Specialist

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team in Cypress, CA. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for providing analytical/technical business support for the company’s procure to pay activities in a lead capacity under the general guidance of the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
What you’ll be doing:
- Serve as a lead for accounts payable (A/P) function, including but not limited to, Customer Vendor Relations and the A/P disbursement group which handles all disbursements, 1099, and tax related matters for two ERP systems.
- Serve as a lead with the company’s procure to pay initiatives that include travel, employee reimbursement, p-card, and meeting card programs.
- Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, policies, and procedures, for the accounts payable function to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage the posting of affiliate payables and contribute to the monthly closing of financial records and information.
- Assist in the training and development of employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product, including recommendations for individual or team development.
- Provides accounting assistance to project managers and operation staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
- Acts as a liaison between the company, government, and external accountants to meet information needs and ensure proper maintenance of information for historical purposes.
- Serves as a role model for customer service and team work to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external business partners.
- All other A/P related duties as assigned
- Assist Vendor Management team when needed.
- Learn the basics of building, implementing, and maintaining workflow in Monday.com
- Works under general guidance of supervisor with limited decision-making authority
- Serves in a lead capacity to peer positions with respect to routine policy and procedure questions, and on-the-job training and development.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- B.S. in business/accounting preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Accounting Operations, including hands on knowledge of pay to process (A/P), general business and accounting procedures
- Demonstrate experience with process improvement, A/P procurement preferred
- Experience with the set up and maintenance of the online booking & expense reporting tools
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access (including data mining), and SAP/ERP systems
- Must have analytical skills and detail oriented
- Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task, willingness to learn new skills, and deal effectively in an evolving environment.
- Strong oral, interpersonal and business and report writing communication skills; interpret and communicate policies and procedures effectively.
- Customer service and team-oriented person who can focus on both the details and the "big picture".

Pay:
$48,340 to $79,770
Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha’s Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
