POSITION SUMMARY:

The Advanced Emergency MedicalTechnician (AEMT) responds to emergent and non-emergent requestsfor medical assistance and delivers high quality patient care,treatment, and customer service in the most expedient,professional, safe, caring, and cost effective manner possiblewithin the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols andCompany policies.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advanced EMTs provide an assessment of patients, determinenecessary care and deliver emergency services by utilizingappropriate medical techniques and equipment.
  • Document patient information, condition and treatment whilemaintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
  • Take pride in providing a safe, clean, andwell-stocked environment for patients.
  • Useappropriate Advanced EMT skills to provide care includingcommunications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, officeequipment and tools.
  • Advanced EMTs operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicablecompany safety policies, and traffic laws related to the operationof emergency medical response vehicles.
  • Workcollaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied healthand public safety personnel as well as your fellow co-workers.

OtherResponsibilities:
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image andestablish strong community relations


MinimumRequired Qualifications:
  • High school diplomaor equivalent (GED)
  • State Driver's License
  • National or State Advanced EMT certification
  • CPR/BLS certifications
  • Driving record in compliance with company policy
  • Pass a Physical Agility Test


WORKINGCONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS
Working Conditions: Availableto work days, nights, weekends and holidays, extended workdays.Long periods inside the ambulance. May work indoors or outdoorswith exposure to weather. Possible routine exposure to moderatenoise levels. May periodically work in poorly lit environments in amoving vehicle.

Physical Demands: Moderate toextended amounts of sitting, standing, and walking. Some repetitivemotion activities. Routinely lifting more than 200 lbs. withassistance. Pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, bending,squatting, kneeling, twisting, carrying, typing and stair climbing.Visual identification of color-coded items. Clear speech andhearing. Must be able to wear a face mask or respirator with properfit for extended periods when required.

MentalRequirements: Critical thinking skills with the ability to uselogic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses ofalternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Fatigue, high pressure, exposure to stressfulsituations.
