Professorial Position, Department of Psychology
2 months ago
The Department of Psychology at Saint Anselm College, a Roman Catholic undergraduate liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition in Manchester, NH invites applications for a full-time, three year, renewable contract professorial position (non-tenured) to begin August 2025. The initial contract has the option to be renewed after 3 years. The department is particularly interested in recruiting an educator with a background in Social Psychology. The successful candidate will teach courses in their area of expertise as well as Social Psychology Personality, core major courses such as General Psychology, Behavioral Statistics and Research Methods.
The Psychology Department includes a popular Psychology major, a Behavioral Neuroscience Major, and collaborates with several other Departments on campus to support other curriculum (i.e., Nursing, Health Science, Community and Public Health, and Education). The department, consisting of eight full-time faculty members, has a strong tradition of excellence in teaching and research and is housed in a unified science building including laboratory spaces for human psychophysiology, observation, and rodent models.
The teaching load is 4 courses per semester (fall and spring) for the professorial position, designated as professor of practice. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses, advise students, and collaborate in areas directly related to their expertise and experience. While teaching is the primary focus, administrative duties and significant mentorship of research projects may be considered part of the load.
Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, evidence of excellence in teaching ability and academic transcripts to the attention of Dr. Elizabeth Rickenbach, Search Committee Chair, Psychology Department via the college website. Three letters of recommendation are required and should be submitted in PDF format via email to the department faculty assistant, Loraine Hobausz at (lhobausz@anselm.edu). Applications should be received by November 30th for full consideration.
Required Skills and Experience:
A Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field is preferred, although ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and the ability to mentor scholarly research at the undergraduate level.
Successful candidates will be able to assist the college in advancing its mission and strategic priorities, which includes institution-wide diversity and inclusiveness.
