Job Summary
  • The Supervisor RRT is a member of the healthcare team who is responsible for the supervision of the Respiratory Care. The Supervisor RRT communicates with the Manager and System Director as related to overall department, program, mission, goals, and budget and performance standards for the area. The Supervisor RRT oversees the shift-by-shift division of therapy and Respiratory Care staff, and acts as a professional resource for other members of the healthcare team. The Supervisor RRT participates in the response to emergent clinical situations throughout the facility. The Supervisor RRT assists in the review, revision and development of policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
  • Education
    • Required: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Program
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Experience
    • Required: At least 2 years' respiratory experience
    • Preferred: 1 year supervisory experience
  • Skills
    • Comprehensive background in all Respiratory care modalities, exceptional leadership skills
    • Represents the department on several process improvement, standardization, and regulatory committees
    • Operates strategic plan by setting and monitoring department Key performance measures and goals
    • Determines department scope of care or service in relation to values, mission, and strategic plan of the institution
    • Assist with developing long term department plans
    • Working knowledge in human relations, customer service, inventory management
    • Ability to work with multiple people while meeting numerous requests and deadlines
    • Goal oriented with initiative and potentials for self-development. Maintains organizational and priority setting skills
    • Able to assess workload and divide effectively among the entire shift team
    • Possess assessment and critical thinking skills
    • Possess in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology
    • Able to act as a professional resource for patient assessment, respiratory care plan and respiratory diagnostics
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Missouri State License for Respiratory
    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training will vary within the areas in which you are assigned:
    • Must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire for all areas
    • Must obtain ACLS within 365 days of hire for working in critical care unit
