Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team. The Physical Therapist will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical therapy services to students with diverse needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about enhancing students' physical well-being and supporting their overall development and participation in school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' motor abilities, functional mobility, strength, and endurance.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to address students' unique needs and goals.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in various settings, including individual and group sessions, to improve motor skills, coordination, balance, and functional independence.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and parents, to integrate therapy goals into students' educational programs and promote their active participation in school routines and activities.
- Monitor student progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain accurate documentation of services provided, progress notes, and outcomes data in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide guidance and education to school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to support students' physical development, safety, and well-being in the school environment.
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in pediatric physical therapy and participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Mississippi licensure as a Physical Therapist or eligibility for licensure through the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Certification in Pediatric Physical Therapy (preferred).
- Experience working with children and adolescents with diverse physical and developmental needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic work environment.
