The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of associate professor. This recruitment seeks creative scientists working on the problem of drug resistance in bacterial pathogens. Investigators directly addressing biofilm-associated infections, abscesses and diabetic wound infections and/or applying novel drug-delivery approaches, such as ultrasound-stimulated cavitation enhanced drug delivery, are highly encouraged to apply. Applicants with expertise in host-pathogen interaction capable of synergizing with existing strengths in pathogens of the diabetic wound environment are also encouraged to apply. The position features outstanding research space, and a collaborative environment.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and/or related field of study
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Applicants with expertise in host-pathogen interaction capable of synergizing with existing strengths in pathogens of the diabetic wound environment systems are also encouraged to apply. Applicants that have secured NIH grant funding in the past is preferred.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
