Work-Study - Campus Recreation Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION:   The Campus Recreation Manager is responsible for assisting in managing and providing any assistance to the Campus Rec staff. They also oversee all Fitness Center activities, including planning, promotion, and implementation. The Campus Recreation Manager reports to the Involvement Coordinator to provide the best possible health and wellness experience on campus.   AREA SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:  - Create and manage a staffing schedule of other student workers - Help maintain equipment and facility cleanliness of the Fitness Center and Old Gym - Work with the Involvement Coordinator to assist with fitness programs and intramural sports - Provide service and assistance to all Campus Rec team members  - Responsible for resolving problems and complaints quickly   - Assist the Involvement Coordinator in hiring and training Campus Rec staff as needed  - Help in other areas as needed, such as re-racking weights and managing the front desk in both the Fitness Center and Old Gym - Other duties as assigned   TEAM MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES:  - Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants and guests  - Uphold and exceed the expectations of the accountability, anticipating needs, attitude, and atmosphere  - Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a Campus Rec ambassador  - Assume ownership of facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic  - Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding facilities  - Enforce Campus Rec policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction  - Respond to all emergency situations, adhering to current protocol, including pre- and post- incident procedures  REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:  - Must have at least and maintain a 2.5 GPA - Must be willing to work opening, closing, and/or weekend shifts  - Must be able to commit to at least 10-15 hours per week  - Must be able to safely lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly  POSITION DESCRIPTION:   The Campus Recreation Manager is responsible for assisting in managing and providing any assistance to the Campus Rec staff.
