We're looking for a Category Support Specialist to join our team at Imperial Supplies You will help manage new product requests, support product management, and assist with global sourcing projects. Key Responsibilities:

 

Manage New Product Requests:

  • Be the main point of contact for new product requests from our sales team.
  • Handle the process of adding new suppliers, negotiating prices, and setting initial terms.
  • Work with product and pricing teams to set prices for new products.
  • Communicate updates and provide monthly reports on new product requests.

 

Support Product Management:

  • Help product managers, category managers, sales, and marketing with various requests.
  • Handle product inquiries, new product requests, customer feedback, image collection, and product information updates.

 

Support Product Lines:

  • Research customer needs and competitors' products.
  • Add products requested by product managers and sales, ensuring they meet profit goals.

 

Assist with Global Sourcing Projects:

  • Participate in requests for quotes and product testing.
  • Identify new global product opportunities.

 

Handle Custom Product Requests

  • Manage requests for customized products with customer logos from sales and customers.

 

Manage Safety Data Sheets:

  • Collect and update safety information from vendors.

 

Provide Routine Support:

  • Assist with day-to-day product management and purchasing tasks.
  • Provide backup support for purchasing functions.

 

  • Help with special projects and other tasks as needed to support the product management team.

 

Minimum Education and Experience: Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years in distribution, product management, marketing, customer service, or sales

Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing. 1-3 years of product experience in a distribution environment
