Position Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Ledger Accounting:
    • Prepare and record journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
    • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
    • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  2. Accounts Payable (AP):
    • Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper approval and coding.
    • Conduct 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
    • Prepare payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
    • Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
  3. Accounts Receivable (AR):
    • Generate and send out customer invoices.
    • Record and apply customer payments accurately.
    • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
    • Assist in collections and resolve customer billing issues.
  4. Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations:
    • Reconcile multiple bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  5. Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Prepare various management reports as required.
    • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
  6. Fixed Assets:
    • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
    • Conduct periodic physical inventories of fixed assets.
  7. Compliance and Controls:
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
