Position Overview: 

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial activities of the company. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, provide insightful analysis, and support key financial decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide analysis of financial results, including variances, trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting process.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in Agriculture industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
