In this position, you will provide supervisory oversight for a regional staff that performs work involved in managing and coordinating with other entities. Typical assignments include:

Implementing and delivering the full range of Public Assistance (PA) programs and coordinating with stakeholders. Program components include but are not limited to: disaster damage assessment teams, technical assistance teams, PA operations within disaster joint field offices and other field offices, and other operational elements as directed.
Interacting with the state emergency management staffs; providing updates on PA policy and procedure changes, feedback on operational issues, advising and counseling on declaration request preparation, and resolving conflicts that arise to the senior level.
Exercising supervisory responsibility for ensuring regional PA operations are executed in accordance with HQ guidance.
Representing FEMA, as a technical authority in PA programs, in a variety of meetings with Federal, State, local, tribal, nongovernmental organizations, and private sector groups to provide interpretation of agency programs, policies, and regulation.
Directing and managing a large and diverse staff of the PA Branch in the delivery of the PA Program covering eight states and six Federally-designated tribes.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
