Description
ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College (MLFTC) and the Division of Teacher Preparation invite applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Secondary (STEM) Education. The position includes teaching in a variety of environments, which may include classroom, community/professional experiences, or distance/online, creating course content, providing feedback on student work/assignments, managing course materials in Canvas (learning management system), establishing supportive relationships with students, and service to the college.

Essential Duties:

Delivering instruction, in a variety of environments, which may include classroom, community/professional experiences, or distance/online, providing timely and actionable feedback on student assignments, managing course materials in Canvas (learning management system for the college), and utilizing technology tools to support student engagement (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Yellowdig).

Establishing and maintaining warm and responsive relationships with students through facilitating course experiences and when engaging with students via office hours, emails, and meetings.
Collaborating with colleagues and other professionals to ensure effective instruction for students throughout their program.
Developing course curricula and content and curating course materials aligned with program-level outcomes.
Providing service to the program, division, college, and/or university through a variety of mechanisms, such as acting as a course coordinator in charge of collaborating with full-time and part-time faculty, maintaining, re-developing, and designing course materials, developing new courses, and content, related to educational foundations workforce needs, serving on a college or university committee, or other related service activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in education, STEM field, or a closely related field
5 years of teaching or working with 6-12th grade age children or youth in STEM content area(s)
Desired Qualifications:

Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or a closely related field
Evidence of learner-centered and relationship-centered teaching
2 years of teaching Secondary (STEM) or closely related content at community college, university-level post-secondary, or other adult education settings
Evidence of course/curriculum development of Secondary (STEM) content for community college, university-level post-secondary, or other adult education settings (such as leading professional learning)
Engagement in Secondary (STEM) Education professional organizations
