About the Role

The MRO Buyer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and investigating potential new suppliers as well as current suppliers for the division. The position is responsible for MRO items and operational requirements including, but not limited to, contract reviews, ordering, organization, and planning. The MRO Buyer will process Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Request for Quotations, and assist/work with various departments within the division to ensure all Production requirements are met. The MRO Buyer manages the process of sourcing supplies, MRO Items, services, capital, and all other non-production items from suppliers based upon best overall value.   

Your Responsibilities
  • Negotiate optimum pricing, terms, and timely procurement of MRO (maintenance, repair and operating) consumables and supplies.
  • Actively participate in review meetings to ensure the successful launch of new products, processes and tools as required.
  • Work with Maintenance and production to ensure MRO crib is effectively utilized.
  • Expedite/follow up on requirements as necessary.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and award purchase orders/contracts.
  • Ensure timely delivery of acceptable quality goods and services to meet the needs of the division. Work with suppliers to effectively resolve delivery issues in a timely manner for MRO consumables and supplies.
  •  Coordinate, control and follow-up all goods returned for credit, repair, or replacement.
Who we are looking for

The position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and some of the information in-process can be considered confidential. 

Your preferred qualifications
  • College/University degree in Purchasing, Materials or Business discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Purchasing/Materials Management related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Enrolment or completion of PMAC program (CPP Designation) an asset.
  • Commitment to teamwork.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products & ERP systems.
