Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is a skilled level position working to oversee maintenance work in the Maintenance Department as assigned to a specific task or tasks. The essential duties and responsibilities include:

Meets all requirements of Maintenance TechnicianMeets daily with technicians and Manager to schedule daily work assignments and resources.Assists other mechanics with problem solving.Assigns housekeeping and 5S responsibilities within the Maintenance ShopMinimize downtime by coordinating with production department personnel and Planner Scheduler on routine preventative and predictive maintenance techniques. Assists Manager in the development of new and existing PM task plans.Works with Manager to develop training regimens for technicians.Conserve resources by the efficient use of equipment and supplies needed to achieve results.Interfaces with contractors to ensure safe, quality deliverables.Consults with MRO Buyer to ensure adequate spare parts are maintained.Reviews Work Orders with MRO Buyer and Manager to ensure efficient completion and to develop trends for downtime improvements.Work with scheduler to achieve 100% PM schedule adherence.Always use safe work practices, follow all safety rules and procedures, immediately report any hazardous conditions, and fully participate in safety programs.Perform safety observations and complete training assignments.Supports all JM safety initiatives and always ensures maintenance team has correct PPE and permits.Supports all JM continuous improvement task teams and objectives.Performs other duties as directed. Supervisory Responsibilities Instructs and leads employees in the Maintenance Department with specific tasks. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Education and/or Experienceand Skills One-year certificate from college or technical school and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Electrical Maintenance experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to read and understand blueprints, maps, etc.Microsoft office suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook Certificates, Licenses, Registrations IIG Forklift Certified Mechanic license or equivalent work experience Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The environment is not climate controlled, and employees must be able to work in environments that may be extremely hot and humid or cold depending upon the operation and the season. Walking surfaces can be wet, dusty, and uneven. Areas of the building where work must be done have high noise levels, vibration, and/or fumes. Some working areas contain the presence of airborne particles which can irritate the skin or eyes. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes steel toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection and in certain areas may be required to wear dust masks, gloves, respirators, or head protection.
